Benjoin Sumatra almonds
René Schönefeld’s Benjoin Sumatra almonds is a mixture of yellow and yellow-reddish granules. The natural resin has a very sweet scent, giving off an aroma strongly reminiscent of vanilla.
The granules are obtained from different gum trees that belong to the genus Styrax, in particular the Styrax Benzoin. This tree originates from Sumatra, Indonesia’s fifth largest island.
Benjoin Sumatra almonds is a resin meant for use in rituals. Burning natural resin is a rich sensory experience and it should preferably be burned on charcoal tabs specifically designed for resin burning. This resin should not be used as a food additive or for pharmaceutical purposes.
