Balthasar
René Schönefeld’s incense Balthasar is a mixture of red glazed gum granules. Balthasar is a classic combination of different types of incense, smelling distinctly of spices with a hint of cinnamon and cloves. When burned it has a very deep and rich fragrance.
Balthasar consists of three types of gum granules (Olibanum, Myrrh and Gum Benjoin) and sandalwood chips. These granules are obtained from different gum trees, in particular the African Boswellia Papyrifera and Commiphora Myrrha and the Asian Styrax Benzoin. The sandalwood chips stem from the West African Pterocarpus soyauxii Taub. The granules have been washed in perfume oils and coloured with pigments that are all EU-approved.
Balthasar is an incense meant to be used in rituals or meditational purposes. Burning incense is a rich sensory experience and it should burn on charcoal tabs specifically designed for incense burning. These charcoal tabs are available on the Three Kings’ official website. This incense is not meant to be used as a food additive or for pharmaceutical purposes.
